Erlebnismuseum Münstermaifeld

Münstermaifeld

Over 20,000 exhibits provide a detailed insight to life in the Maifeld in the 19th and early 20th century. Whether it's the ladies hat shop, the grocery shop, or the shoemakers', saddle makers', cart-wrights' or tailors' workshops - they all look as if their owner has only just left.
On a walk around Münstermaifeld there is even more to discover: a Jewish butcher's shop in the traditional art nouveau design that was closed in 1937 has been renovated in its original configuration. All of these treasures have been gathered and presented by Wilhelm Kirchesch who provides expert guidance through his exhibition.

Eltz Castle - the fairytale castle in the Eifel forest

High towers, picturesque oriels, protective walls and a deep castle moat amaze visitors when the well-preserved medieval castle appears out of nowhere on one of the hiking trails - e.g. the award-winning dream trail "Eltzer Burgpanorama". The interior holds some well-preserved treasures: the imposing knights' hall, the armoury and treasure chamber or the bedrooms, living rooms and writing rooms. All this can be experienced on a guided tour between April and November.

Historisches Münstermaifeld

The small town of Münstermaifeld with its imposing collegiate church towers high above the gently undulating hills of the Maifeld. A stroll through the narrow streets with their impressive courtyards and town houses leads back to an eventful history. A new signposted is a historic city tour that starts at the tourist information on Münsterplatz. There you also get a folding plan for the city tour. City tours take place every Sunday and public holiday at 2 p.m., from April to November 1. The meeting point is the tourist information.
